RULES

1. Birthdays and Age Eligibility:  Age Divisions for singles are 10's,
12's, 14's, 16's, and 18's.  Some divisions may be combined if in-
sufficient entries.  You may "play up" in a higher age group but you
can't "play down".  You may plan an age division until the month in
which you "age out" of tha division.  For example, if you turn 15 in June
you may play 14's up through May, but you must play 16's starting in June.

2. USTA Ranked Players:  If you have a ranking in the top 25 in the USTA, you should not be playing these tournaments unless you play in a higher age bracket.  In some cases, you might even play up two age groups. If you're uncertain, please check with your local Tennis Pro or the Tournament Director.

3. Qualifications for the Grand Prix Finals:  To qualify for the Grand Prix Finals, a player must play at least one tournament in the age group they will be in November, and they must win at least one match, also in the age group they will be in November.  A consolation match win will count as a qualifying win. These rules apply to both singles and doubles.

4. Grand Prix Points:  You must win a match to earn points.  A default does not court as a win.  Points earned in one age group can't be transferred to another age group.  Each tournament is worth 100 total points to the winner, 67 points to the finalist, 45 points to the semi-finalists, 30 points to the quarter-finalists, and 15 points for reaching the round of 16 via a win.

In the 10's divisions, players earn 15 points for each win. If you don't win a match, players earn 5 participation points for each match played.
In Consolation draws, a player may earn up to a maximum of 30 points for winning the consolations.

5. Sportsmanship:  It is expected that all participants in the NBJTA will display proper conduct, court etiquette, and sportsmanship at all times. If a player violates these rules, the Tournament Director from that tournament will file a report to the NBJTA.  A player who has received more then one complaint, will be suspended from further tournament play from the remaineder of the season.
